About this title

The S.T.A.R. Puppy program is designed for puppies up to 1 year old. S.T.A.R. stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility.

Requirements

1. Puppy must be under 1 year old
2. Owner must complete a 6-week puppy training course
3. Owner maintains dog's health by keeping up with veterinary care
4. Owner provides proper nutrition
5. Owner provides adequate exercise
6. Socializes with at least 3 people outside the family
7. Is calm with owner petting and grooming
8. Accepts someone taking a food bowl away
9. Allows toenails to be touched
10. Sits and comes on cue
11. Down or stands on cue
12. Stays on cue for 10 seconds
13. Walks on loose leash with owner
